Photography Workshop Cruise
Come join us on a Photography Workshop Cruise to the Bahamas!
Travel with and learn from professional photographers Tina Erdmann, of Tina LeAnn Photography, and Beth Wendland of Elizabeth Wendland Photography. During your 5 day/4 night cruise, you will enjoy hands on photography instruction while on board, and photography related instruction while touring the islands**. Cruise, learn to use your DSLR camera, and go home with great images of your vacation!

Your workshop hosts, Tina and Beth, will be teaching the same photography workshop that has been selling out across the country, but this time, on a cruise ship! Tina and Beth are both certified photography instructors, writers for Shutterlove, a Nielsen National Publishing Company, and have had their images and tips published worldwide by Babble and other leading educators in the photography industry.

Join us May 5 – 9, 2014!!
You will set sail for the Bahamas aboard Royal Caribbean’s, Majesty of the Seas, departing from Miami on May 05, 2014. Your cruise will take you to the beautiful islands of Nassau, CocoCay, and Key West, before returning to Miami on May 09, 2014
Workshop at Sea:
If you are ready for a jam-packed week of fun, sun, and learning, then this photography workshop cruise is for you! This workshop is designed for beginner and intermediate DSLR users. This workshop is the one for you if…–You have made the investment in a nice digital camera but can’t seem to get off auto mode (the little green box) –You take a dozen shots of the same thing hoping that one will turn out okay –You have more than one lens for your camera –You want to take your photos to the next level –You have a DSLR, but are considering buying another lens or camera –Your eyes cross when you look at all the numbers and settings on your camera –You’ve heard the words aperture, f-stop, and ISO, but they sound like a foreign language to you –You just bought a DSLR camera, but have not idea what all those buttons are for
During this workshop you will be taught the complete photographic workflow, from learning photo storytelling techniques and composing a photograph, to post processing and organizing your images.
Some of the topics that will be covered during this workshop:
Eight easy camera settings that will change your results overnight!–Diving into focus by understanding the Plane of Focus, Central Focal Point, and Depth of Field –The Magic Three: ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed –My formula for shooting in Manual Mode—by the time you leave the workshop, you’ll be shooting in Manual too! –Tips to become aware of the light, and seeing light like a professional photographer –Deeper awareness in how to compose a storytelling photo –How to build ideas for a photo story before you start shooting—Quick “must have” tips for successful photos –Learn how to use available light, and off camera lighting –Creative composition—with special attention to landscape, travel, documentary, and portrait photography –How to create a beautiful photo book of your vacation
Monday, May 5
7:00PM – 9:00PM – Join us for a Bon Voyage Meet and Greet.
Tuesday, May 6
This will be a long and exciting day, so come well rested and with coffee in hand! We will be covering a lot, but have regularly scheduled breaks throughout the day.
8:00AM to 1:00PM – Workshop instruction. During this time we will introduce you to the technical side of your DSLR. Don’t worry, we’ll make the techy stuff easy to understand!
We will be covering: Eight Easy Camera Settings, that will change your results overnight, The Magic Three: ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed
1:00PM – 2:00PM – Lunch. During lunch will be having a roundtable photography discussion. You are free to have lunch on your own, however, we want this to be non-stop photography learning before we reach our first port of call.
3:00 PM – 9:00PM – we will disembark the ship and head out to the streets of Nassau, Bahamas to shoot! We have arranged to be shooting all the way until 9:00PM so you can also learn the skills for amazing night photography!
9:00pm – 11:59PM – You are free to explore on your own. You can either head back to the ship, or stay and continue to tour the island. The ship remains at port until 11:59PM.
Wednesday, May 7
8:00AM – 9:00AM – We’ll meet briefly in the conference room to prep for our day on CocoCay.
9:00AM – We disembark the ship to tour CocoCay, Bahamas.
1:00PM – We’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where we’ll have another roundtable photography discussion.
3:00PM – 5:00PM – We’ll resume shooting and exploring the island.
5:00PM – Board ship
5:00PM – 7:00PM – Relax and eat dinner on your own.
7:00PM – 9:00PM Meet in the conference room for photo critiques, Q&A session, and to learn about post processing techniques, and image organization.
Thursday, May 8
9:00AM – 6:00PM – The ship will port in Key West. Today is your day to implement all your new-found camera skills! You are free to explore, and do whatever you’d to like for the day.
8:00AM – 12:00PM – Tina and Beth will be in the conference room to answer any questions and give critiques. It is NOT required to attend this meeting. This is for drop ins who just need a little extra one-on-one time ;). Tina and Beth will leave the ship at 12:00PM, and will be available by cell phone for any photography related guidance while you are on the island.
7:00PM – 9:00PM – Farewell meeting in the conference room.
Friday, May 9
9:00AM Disembark ship.
